The Serpent Dragon Amulet is made up of twelve parts, and its design is inspired by the traditional Japanese hanafuda. This amulet features a serpent dragon that connects all the parts together into a majestic design that brings good luck and prosperity throughout the year.

Hanafuda is a set of Japanese playing cards decorated with beautiful illustrations of plants and animals. They were very popular during the Edo period (1603-1867), and each month is represented by a different flower symbol.

    December – Paulownia

    Shiwasu: priests run

December marks the end of the solar year and the beginning of the new year, which is one of the most important holidays in Japan. It is a busy and exciting time, especially for priests who bless visitors at Shinto and Buddhist temples. The paulownia tree symbolizes this month and is the official symbol of the Prime Minister of Japan and the country’s democratically elected system of government. Additionally, it is a custom to plant paulownias when a girl is born, and when she is ready for marriage, the trees are cut down and carved into wooden articles to be used as gifts for her husband.
